My Research Interests

I am a first year DPhil student in Professor Peter Norreys’ group. I have specific interest in the applications of optimisation and machine learning to atomic and laser physics.

One element of my work is within the spatio-temporal characterisation of ultrashort laser beams - in particular, developing hyperspectral phase retrieval algorithms. This project is done in collaboration with the Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) of Munich. I also work on automating the alignment of optical equipment by using reinforcement learning.
