Bio
I am a Theoretical Physics DPhil student at the University of Oxford, starting in the academic year 2024/2025, supervised by Prof. Ard Louis. I have a BA in physics and philosophy and a masters in mathematical and theoretical physics, also from Oxford.
My DPhil research is in algorithmic information theory, which sits at the intersection of physics and computer science. I’m trying to theoretically understand why many systems exhibit simplicity bias. I’m interested in finite automata because they exhibit a lot of interesting behavior and are at the lowest level of the Chomsky hierarchy.
My other research interests are information theory, compression algorithms, Monte Carlo methods, graph theory, evolutionary algorithms, and neural networks.
