Dr Daniel Weatherill

I tutor undergraduates at several colleges, in the following subjects:

Condensed matter physics (3rd year)

Electromagnetism (2nd year)

Analog Electronics (2nd year)

I am one of the senior demonstrators in the 2nd year electronics practical class

I supervise the following 3rd year projects:

B8 - development of semiconductor drift-diffusion modelling simulations

B9 - optical calibration of astronomical CCDs and low noise test equipment

I have had the pleasure to work with several masters students in the OPMD lab over the years, most recently:

- development of synthesized delay line sub-ns time to digital counters (TDC) using ice40 FPGAs

- development of concept front-end readout for silicon photomultipliers
