  • About

I am a PhD researcher in the Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics at the University of Oxford. I am part of the Climate Modelling and African Climate research groups, supervised by Dr Milan Kloewer, Dr Neil Hart, and Dr Callum Munday. My PhD is funded by the Interdisciplinary Life and Environmental Science Landscape Award (ILESLA).

My research focuses on monsoon dynamics and hybrid climate modelling, and I am interested in understanding how and why monsoon systems respond differently to climate change.

Climate models project a wide range of changes across Earth's monsoons, but we do not fully know why. My work investigates the dynamics of individual monsoon systems to identify whether dynamics are similar across systems, and if not, why. Alongside this, I am interested in how machine learning and observations can be used in climate models to improve simulations. A particular focus is precipitation, a key component of monsoon systems that climate models still struggle to represent accurately. I am investigating how observations of precipitation can be used within hybrid models, and if these improved models can tell us about future monsoon change.
