Cross section for b-jet production in supp¯p collisions at √s=1.8 TeV
Physical Review Letters 85:24 (2000) 5068-5073
Abstract:
Bottom-quark production in p¯p collisions at √s=1.8 TeV is studied with 5 pb−1 of data collected in 1995 by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The differential production cross section for b jets in the central rapidity region (|yb|<1) as a function of jet transverse energy is extracted from a muon-tagged jet sample. Within experimental and theoretical uncertainties, D0 results are found to be higher than, but compatible with, next-to-leading-order QCD predictions. © 2000 The American Physical Society.Limits on light gravitino production and new processes with large missing transverse energy in pp¯ collisions at √s = 1.8TeV

Abstract:
Events collected by the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF) with an energetic jet plus large missing transverse energy can be used to search for physics beyond the standard model. We see no deviations from the expected backgrounds and set upper limits on the production of new processes. We consider in addition the production of light gravitinos and set a limit at 95% F ≥ 217GeV, which excludes gravitino masses smaller than 1.1 × 10−5eV/c2. © 2000 American Physical Society.Measurement of J/ψ and ψ(2S) polarization in pp collisions at √ s = 1.8 Tev

Abstract:
We have measured the polarization of J/ψ and ψ(2S) mesons produced in pp collisions at √ = 1.8 TeV using data collected at the Collider Detector at Fermilab during 1992–1995. The polarization of promptly produced J/ψ [ψ(2S)] mesons is isolated from those produced in B-hadron decay and measured over the kinematic range 4 [5.5] < PT < 20 GeV/c and |y| < 0.6. For PT ≾ 12 GeV/c we do not observe significant polarization in the prompt component. © 2000 The American Physical Society.Precision measurement of the Ξ0 mass and the branching ratios of the decays Ξ0 → Λγ and Ξ0 → ∑0γ

Abstract:
A new precision measurement of the Ξ0 mass has been performed at the NA48 experiment at the CERN SPS. The value obtained is [1314.82±0.06 (stat.) ±0.2 (syst.)] MeV/c2. The branching ratios of Xi;0 radiative decays have been measured as: Br(Ξ0 → Λγ) = [1.90 ± 0.34(stat.) ± 0.19(syst.)] · 10-3 and Br(Ξ0 → ∑0γ) = [3.14 ± 0.76(stat.) ± 0.32(syst.)] · 10-3.Search for a fourth-generation quark more massive than the Z0 boson in pp¯ collisions at √s = 1.8 TeV
