Abstract:

The ANTARES project aims at the design and realisation of a prototype extensible to a km-scale neutrino undersea detector. The step-by-step programme is here presented. © 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

The CLEO III Ring Imaging Cherenkov detector

Abstract:

The CLEO detector is undergoing major improvements in conjunction with a high luminosity upgrade of the CESR e+e- collider. A novel element is a state of the art particle identification system, based on a proximity focused Ring Imaging Cherenkov detector. This detector will provide an excellent hadron identification at all the momenta relevant to the study of the decays of B mesons produced at the Υ(4S) resonance. Some features unique to our design will be discussed together with some results achieved on individual components. © 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract:

The CLEO detector is undergoing major improvements in conjunction with a high luminosity upgrade of the CESR e(+)e(-) collider. A novel element is a state of the art particle identification system, based on a proximity focused Ring Imaging Cherenkov detector. This detector will provide an excellent hadron identification at all the momenta relevant to the study of the decays of B mesons produced at the Upsilon(4S) resonance. Some features unique to our design will be discussed together with some results achieved on individual components. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract:

We have searched for the proton decay mode p → ν K+ using the one-kiloton Soudan 2 high resolution calorimeter. Contained events obtained from a 3.56 kiloton-year fiducial exposure through June 1997 are examined for occurrence of a visible K+ track which decays at rest into μ+ ν or π+ π0. We found one candidate event consistent with background, yielding a limit, τ/B(p → ν K+) > 4.3 × 1031 years at 90% CL with no background subtraction. © 1998 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. Abstract:

We report on a search for the trilepton decay signature from the associated production of supersymmetric gaugino pairs, χ∼±1χ∼02, within the context of minimal supersymmetric models that conserve R parity. This search uses 95 pb−1 of pp− data taken at s = 1.8 TeV with the D0 detector. No evidence of a trilepton signature has been found, and a limit on the product of cross section times branching fraction to trileptons is given as a function of χ∼±1 mass. © 1998 The American Physical Society.
