I am a particle theorist working to understand how best to learn about fundamental particles and their interactions at particle colliders. I do so mostly through the study of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD, the theory of quarks and gluons).
I joined Oxford in 2018 as a Royal Society Research Professor and a Senior Research Fellow at All Souls College. Prior to that I held appointments at CERN, Princeton and the CNRS in Paris (LPTHE). I received my PhD from the University of Cambridge in 1996 and did postdocs at the INFN in Milan and at CERN.
