About

The Theory of Quantum Systems group explores fundamental physics and applications of experiments involving highly controlled quantum systems. Motivated by rapid progress in experiments with control of single quantum objects (including atoms, photons, molecules, electron spins, and superconducting circuits), we explore novel physical phenomena and new implementations and applications of quantum computing and simulation.

Our work combines ideas from quantum optics and quantum many-body systems, and both analytical and numerical techniques in order to understand current experiments, and to set a roadmap for what can be explored and developed in the coming years.

QOQMS

Prof. Daley has recently moved to the University of Oxford from leading the Quantum Optics and Quantum Many-body Systems group at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. We work closely together with researchers based in Glasgow.
