Current Oxford Teaching
I am currently teaching a graduate course on Nonequilibrium Statistical Physics as a part of the Oxford MMathPhys programme. The course is offered every Hilary Term, and covers the following topics:
- Stochastic Langevin dynamics
- Brownian motion
- Nonequilibrium kinetics
- Master equation
- Number fluctuations and Doi formalism
- Fokker-Planck equation
- Kramers rate theory and mean first-passage time
- Brownian ratchets
- Multiplicative noise
- Path integral formulation and Martin-Siggia-Rose method
- Fluctuation theorems
- Synchronization and Kuramoto model
Past Oxford Teaching
I have, in the past, taught the 1st year physics undergraduate lectures on vector calculus and multiple integrals. To receive a copy of my lecture notes, you can email your request to the following address: golestanian-office@ds.mpg.de
