I am a materials physicist. My research ambition is to find the silicon of tomorrow. I work with a passionate group of researchers at Oxford to design quantum materials that could be used to realise ultra-fast and energy-efficient functionalities. In the long run, we aim to assemble these functions to build next-gen computing and communication hardware.
My research interfaces the disciplines of quantum materials design, nanomagnetism, spintronics, topological order and X-ray spectromicroscopy. I am interested in building cross-disciplinary solutions to research problems (e.g. energy efficiency in devices).
I am also passionate about making science education fun and engaging by using an experiential pedagogy. I have worked with the Ministry of Education (Singapore) to develop novel tools for science education. I am also an advisor and a volunteer science faculty of the educational non-profit - Raising a Mathematician Foundation.
