About me

I was born in the wonderful city of Freiburg and grew up in the outskirts of Munich, Germany. As a scholar of the Maximilianeum Foundation, I studied Chemistry and Biochemistry at LMU Munich. After finishing my Bachelors in 2017, I completed a Masters in Radiobiology at the University of Oxford, before returning to LMU for a Masters in Biochemistry. During my second Masters, I had great opportunities to work with Prof. Tinnefeld and Prof. Jungmann in the field of biophysics/DNA nanotechnology/super-resolution imaging, which have left a lasting mark on me. In Autumn 2020, I have started my DPhil in biophysics in the research group of Prof. Kapanidis, where my work focuses on utilising single-molecule DNA hybridisation to study transcription processes.

Research interests

biophysics
fluorescence microscopy
single molecule experiments
super-resolution microscopy
