Search for the standard model Higgs Boson produced in association with top quarks using the full CDF data set.
Physical review letters 109:18 (2012) 181802
Abstract:
A search is presented for the standard model Higgs boson produced in association with top quarks using the full Run II proton-antiproton collision data set, corresponding to 9.45 fb(-1), collected by the Collider Detector at Fermilab. No significant excess over the expected background is observed, and 95% credibility-level upper bounds are placed on the cross section σ(ttH → lepton + missing transverse energy+jets). For a Higgs boson mass of 125 GeV/c(2), we expect to set a limit of 12.6 and observe a limit of 20.5 times the standard model rate. This represents the most sensitive search for a standard model Higgs boson in this channel to date.Measurement of the t-channel single top-quark production cross section in pp collisions at √s=7 TeV with the ATLAS detector
Physics Letters, Section B: Nuclear, Elementary Particle and High-Energy Physics 717:4-5 (2012) 330-350
Abstract:
We report a measurement of the cross section of single top-quark production in the t-channel using 1.04 fb-1 of pp collision data at s=7 TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. Selected events feature one electron or muon, missing transverse momentum, and two or three jets, exactly one of them identified as originating from a b quark. The cross section is measured by fitting the distribution of a multivariate discriminant constructed with a neural network, yielding σt=83±4(stat.)-19 +20(syst.) pb, which is in good agreement with the prediction of the Standard Model. Using the ratio of the measured to the theoretically predicted cross section and assuming that the top-quark-related CKM matrix elements obey the relation |Vtb|≫|Vts|, |Vtd|, the coupling strength at the W-t-b vertex is determined to be |Vtb|=1.13-0.13 +0.14. If it is assumed that |Vtb|≤1 a lower limit of |Vtb|>0.75 is obtained at the 95% confidence level. © 2012 CERN.Novel inclusive search for the Higgs boson in the four-lepton final state at CDF
Physical Review D - Particles, Fields, Gravitation and Cosmology 86:7 (2012)
Abstract:
An inclusive search for the standard model Higgs boson using the four-lepton final state in proton-antiproton collisions produced by the Tevatron at √s=1.96TeV is conducted. The data are recorded by the CDF II detector and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 9.7fb -1. Three distinct Higgs decay modes, namely ZZ, WW, and ττ, are simultaneously probed. Nine potential signal events are selected and found to be consistent with the background expectation. We set a 95% credibility limit on the production cross section times the branching ratio and subsequent decay to the four-lepton final state for hypothetical Higgs boson masses between 120GeV/c2 and 300GeV/c2. © 2012 American Physical Society.Novel inclusive search for the Higgs boson in the four-lepton final state at CDF
