The Department of Physics has a long history of making printed circuit boards and etched components for the department, university and local industry. We fabricate solid etched parts, flexible copper circuits and multi-layer printed circuit boards, while our conveyor system allows medium-sized production runs to be made with a short turnaround time.

What we do

We use a range of DuPont dry film resists – Riston 215, 220 and fx930 and for liquid negative resists we have a Cirgraphics dip coater with a maximum exposure size of 3m × 0.5m. High resolution is a minimum 25 micron track with 50 micron gap. For flexible circuit encapsulation with polyimide (kapton) we have an Italpress with active press area 1.2m × 0.5m with a maximum temperature of 350 degrees C.
