We deliver a lively and varied programme of activity for secondary school students and teachers to support our dual aims of increasing access to Oxford and increasing diversity in STEM. Activities are delivered by staff and students across the Department of Physics and include engaging research talks, interactive workshops, dynamic shows, hands-on festival stalls, behind-the-scenes tours and competitions

Enriching physics
We run a selection of exciting events for school children to help build a passion for physics.

Levelling up: physics is a 14-month programme of tutoring, mentoring and events for local Y12 students who are interested in studying physics at university.

Marie Curious is a free one-day science event for girls aged 12-14 that aims to build confidence and fuel a passion for STEM subjects.

Students can participate in a week of online placements in the summer covering physics research as well as professional and support services such as technical, outreach, enterprise and communication.
